In the beforehand United States of America, brood policeman Ichabod Crane is sent to from New York to the fledgling discharge of Sleepy Hollow to sift through a series of ghoulish murders. On his passenger, the community council informs him that the three victims were killed in open reason, and the heads had disappeared - bewitched beside a headless ghost that is hypothetically accountable. Ichabod is unconvinced of this, but learns more respecting the creepy horseman - it is the ghost of a Hessian sent sooner than the British during the insurrectionist joust with, and he was caught by redcoats and decapitated with his own sword.
