Supporter of the Scottish football team St. Mirren
His first choice of career would have been a sports journalist; unfortunately he didn't get the right qualifications to study in Edinburgh.
Won a gold nymph as best actor in a mini-series for "Kid In The Corner" at the Monte-Carlo TV festival in 2000.
He once had his own production company, Deep Blue River Films. Deep Blue River is the gaelic meaning of the name Douglas.
